New councillors for Manningham
New mayor and councillors for Whitehorse
The new mayor is Helen Harris. Cr Harris has lived in Whitehorse for more than 30 years, the past 12 years in Elgar Ward. She is married with two adult daughters.Her notable achievements include receiving the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) awarded by the Commonwealth Government in 1993 for services to community history and attaining a Master of Arts (History) at Monash University.Cr Harris has strong community connections and is affiliated with the Box Hill Historical Society, the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies Incorporated and the Whitehorse Branch of the Greens.
The new Whitehorse councillors are -
CENTRAL WARD – Andrew Munroe and Bill Pemberton
ELGAR WARD – Robert Chong and Helen Harris
MORACK WARD – Raylene Carr and Mark Lane
RIVERSDALE WARD – Sharon Ellis and John Koutras
SPRINGFIELD WARD – Philip Daw and Ben Stennett

Database tips
1. Did you know that once you have retrieved an article in a database that the article can be e-mailed?. This may be particularly useful if a student has accessed articles in the library and has no money for printing. These can be e-mailed fulltext ,citation only. or citation and abstract. E-mailing of these articles can be carried out on all PCs, not just the e-mail PCs.
2. Some databases i.e.- ANZ ref, Masterfile and General Onefile offer translation of search fields in another language . Click on Language tab or preferences.
3. Click on "New features" tab for changes to EBSCO databases. Learn about their enhanced search features and one step alerts.
